Dededo is the most populous and second largest village in Guam. It is in the north-central part of the island and has a diverse mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Dededo has many shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues, such as the Micronesia Mall, offering over 130 stores, a movie theater, and restaurants. It is also home to Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz, activated on October 1st, 2020. MCB Camp Blaz is the first new Marine Corps base activated in the U.S. since 1952. Dededo’s name may come from the practice of measuring using fingers as the Spanish word for finger is “dedo.”
