Inarajan is a southern village that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Haya (Southern) District. Inarajan is one of the oldest and most preserved villages in Guam, as it retains much of its traditional Chamorro architecture and customs. Inarajan has many natural and cultural sites, such as Inarajan Pools, Bear Rock, and Gef Pa’go Cultural Village. Gef Pa’go Cultural Village, which sits right on the bay, is part of what gives Inarajan its heritage-rich flavor. The village, which consists of ancient-style thatch-roofed huts, is staffed mainly by elder CHamorus who demonstrate traditional CHamoru arts, crafts, and cooking to visitors. A younger group of CHamoru cultural dancers also performs at Gef Pa’go called Inetnon Gef Pa’go. The village’s name comes from the word “inalahan”, which means coconut grove.
